Discover Gustave Caillebotte through family archives

Saturday, February 21, 2026

Lecture presented by Stéphanie Chardeau-Botteri

This lecture takes us back to the heart of the 19th century, retracing the artist's life through the history of Impressionism. It evokes all the different roles played by Gustave Caillebotte: great painter, patron of the Impressionists, enlightened collector, outstanding navigator, philatelist, great horticulturist, and provocateur through his legacy. Based on family archives, this lecture will help you understand why Caillebotte, so well known in his day, has become, over time, an unknown Impressionist.
